A local woman and her college student daughter have fallen victim to a mechanic scam orchestrated by individuals known as 'Jonathan' and 'Breanna.' The mother initially hired them to repair a Jeep, which was done successfully. As a result, she trusted them to fix her daughter's Dodge Charger SRT, but things took a turn for the worse. The mother paid $2,000, their entire savings, to purchase 16 lifters needed for the Charger. However, after receiving the money, the alleged scammers stopped all communication, leaving the car disassembled and the daughter without her key. The victims have retained text messages and Cash App receipts as potential evidence for any legal action. Be cautious of these mechanic scammers.
