§ I. How Credentials Work
Each verified credential becomes a badge on your public listing and lifts your trust score. Upload a clear photo or scan of the document — the issuing body, your name, the certificate / license number, and the expiration date must all be readable. A real human at Ethical Mechanic reviews every submission. Reviews usually finish within 1–2 business days.

Business / Mechanic License
State-issued license to operate as an auto repair business or registered mechanic. Where state requires nothing — common for mobile mechanics — this slot stays optional.
Liability Insurance
Active liability insurance certificate showing the business name on the policy. Removes the “uninsured” flag and unlocks the Insured badge.
