Ethical Mechanic is a consumer-protection directory. Every listed mechanic is verified by a real human reviewer to confirm two things: you are who you say you are, and you actually run the business you’re claiming. Until both are confirmed your file remains private — nothing is published to the public directory.

Reviews usually finish within 1–2 business days. We email the moment a decision is made.

Your score will be recalculated when the reviewer approves your file. Any verified credentials (License, Insurance, ASE) you submitted will count toward your final number.

Each verified credential adds a badge to your public listing and stacks credibility with customers. Submit additional credentials on the Credentials tab.

See your file the way customers do, or share the public URL.

Publish typical price ranges for common services. None of the corporate chains do this. Independent shops who post real numbers signal one thing to customers: I have nothing to hide. All optional — leave any field blank to omit it from your public listing.

Note: Pricing is saved but won’t appear publicly until your file is verified by a reviewer.

Mobile mechanics and shops who travel for service calls: tell customers how far you’ll go. Customers searching from outside your area won’t see your listing — preventing the wrong-customer-wrong-job mismatch problem.
